Electronics. Robotics. Computers. DIY. Arduino. Raspberry Pi. RC. 3D Printing.

Whatever catches my fancy at the moment.

I got a bit more done on InMoov. Ended up having to dis-assemble and re-assemble the head. What a pain. I had forgotten about routing the servo control wires through the neck and there are 4 of them. I will need to partially disassemble to add the camera into the eye and route the cable down through the neck.

More on the wiring on the InMoov project page, also lots of pictures.

I finally got the last piece in the mail for my talking skull project. I expect to do a bit more on it soon.

I did add a gallery page, but for some reason, it is not displaying the pictures. It is showing the folders. The idea is that with the smaller pictures on the page, you can right click and show the picture in full size. But the gallery would host them all by project. I am hoping to get it sorted out soon.

I have been working on the InMoov project. There is a lot of 3d printing, over 20 hours so far and counting (including stuff I had to reprint!). It is a really interesting project started by Gael Langevin, who is a French sculptor and designer. He has created an open source human sized 3d printed. You can follow the complete original project here.

Currently, I only have plans to build the head and neck portions, though I may need to build the shoulders to mount it to. We will see. As I mentioned above, there is a lot of 3d printing. I am quite fortunate that I have an Original Prusa i3 Mk2s. All of the parts fit nicely the first time, though most of the mounting holes are deliberately undersized and need a bit of reaming. I am not going to put more here, just go to the project page. The most current write up is at the top in date order.

I am still playing with the layout, so the project pages may change a bit in the process, but you have to start somewhere.

I also have a bit of work done on my talking skull project too. I have posted a bit of it and I am waiting on some parts to come in and am trying to decide how I want the sound system to work. More than likely, it will use some sort of mp3 player an be motion activated. I picked up a couple RCWL-0516 (It is a Doppler radar motion detection circuit board, JDESbonnet has made a really good write up on GitHub). They are pretty cheap, I got mine for under $1. It is a small 5 pin module that is easily integrated with Arduino that only needs 4-28VDC. I may have to do a separate write up just on that one. One of the nice things about this module is that it only detects motion of living things...
