August 30, 2013: I have been working on my Maker Trainer for quite a while now. I am not going to go into alot of detail on this since it is covered in a 15 episode video series that you can watch here starting with Episode 1:

Maker Hanger: Episode 1 Introduction

Be sure to go over the parts list and order everything you will need. If you have a local RC hobby shop, it will help a bit. Most of the items can be sourced from Hobby King online. The actual building of the plane is not very expensive, right around $10. However, you can easily go over $200 (with shipping and handling) for the transmitter, electronics, motors, etc., that goes into it. The beauty of it is that those parts are all reusable in other planes. You can find the intial parts list here. There is also a Google hangout community for the build as well.

You may just wish to watch all of the videos and see if it would be something you'd like to do.

I a still awaiting a few last minute parts to complete my build then I will be ready to fly! I will let you know how it goes. Also, keep in mind that this is my FIRST RC trainer. It isn't perfect and as I built it I did figure a few things that I would have done differently. AND it is expected to be crashed. So, I could have made it prettier, better finish, stripes, colors, etc... but I will save it for version  2.0.

If you have any questions about this project, email me.
